Hello, I had a question about cemeteries in Hudson, Quebec. In our family records we have a letter written about the death of George Black (1795-1865). He was visiting his son, who was living in Hudson, and be became sick and died while there. The letter says that there was a huge snowstorm that closed all the rail lines, so he was unable to send the body back to his home on the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario. The son, George, writes that he was going to bury his father in the English Burying Grounds, with a proper headstone, and if the family wishes that in the spring they would remove the body to move it back to Ontario. I don't think that was done. I was wondering where or what the cemetery is named. And if there is a record of a George Black being buried in Hudson, Quebec in January-February 1865. Any help or hints would be appreciated. Thank you for your help, Michael Black.

Found this site after attending my future-daughter-in-law's bridal shower. She is the niece of Thelma Seguin. Small world. Glad to see Kathy Jephcott's name and Dougie Callendar's (my first boy friend in grade 8 or so). It was a long long time ago.... but I will contact both. Fun to recognize so many names. I left for for the bright lights of Montreal and eventually Calgary just as soon as I could after graduation in 1958. Live now in Ottawa since 1999 near two sons - Jeffrey and Matthew. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize most of Hudson now, but did visit my old home at 52 Main Road about 10 years ago -- it's now Clemantine's Restaurant. Lots of memories there. Hi to all the Hudsonites.

Just want to say hi to everyone in Hudson. I lived in Hudson from 1972-86, then joined the Navy and have been there ever since. I worked at Mon Village and a sub- contractor named Pierre Vermette. I now live in Victoria BC and love, though I am considering retireing in Hudson - that is my wife (Diane) wants to, but i don't know if we can get used to the cold and snow again. so if any my my old friends read this, E-mail me, like Ian Wittaker, Sean Jesty, Dave Lockwood or anyone from HHS that knew me.

I hear Hudson High is now called Westwood but many of the kids don't like it and are sticking with the old name. It will always be Hudson High for me.
