The group in charge of building the new regional palliative care centre has confirmed that it will be built on land donated by the Parsons family on the corner of Como Gardens and Shepherd. The family also made a substantial donation to help kick off the fundraising which will be needed.
Hudson was already favoured because the Hudson area is home to a large pool of bilingual volunteers who will be required for the new centre. The fact that the donated land is centrally located with easy access to the centre of Hudson swung the balance in Hudson's favour. The centre will have twelve beds and will take children as well as adults.
